A spring day in Paris

I took the Eurostar from London to Paris and stayed overnight. The next morning was beautiful — fresh and sunny. Perfect for walking around. I was starting to get a cold when I left England and it was not helped by my walking about 15 kilometres over the course of the day.

Waiting in St. Pancras for boarding

Having little appetite, I drank a lot of coffee and spent a couple hours reading the latest TLS in Jardin du Luxembourg after making a little visit to one of my favourite Parisian shops, Oh My Cream! The entire area was surrounded by military and police, which was slightly concerning until I noticed the senate was in session right there at the Luxembourg Gardens.

I stayed until the clouds began to gather, a motivating reminder that I had a train to Basel to catch.
