Oxford Literary Festival

The rest of the week of talks in Oxford was as good as the opening weekend. A couple days of heavy rain kept me from doing much else, though luckily the skies cleared in time for a walking tour of Literary Oxford. It seems every significant novelist or poet went to an Oxford college and many of them wrote about Oxford. Our very knowledgeable guide, Alastair Lack, read many snippets of poetry to us as we gazed up at the beautiful stone college buildings.

Another wet day at the Oxford Literary Festival

I bought far too many books and had to stop myself after only a few days by creating a shopping list for when I get back home, which I have now hidden away until I actually read some of the books I already have. It’s a good thing I stopped when I did as I could barely lift my suitcase by the end of the week.
